My sister asked if I wanted to dress up my blog like hers, so I did. She said there were some "Guy backgrounds".
Is this "guy" enough? ;-)

Tuesday Before Surgery
I have surgery on Thursday to fix a herniated disc in my neck.
I also found out today that I'm flying out to New York to fix a customer's Reporter installation. I'm concerned about the long flight 4 days after major surgery. I'm worried about blood-clots and jarring my spine. My spine will have a titanium plate put in to hold two vertebrae in place.
The official name of the procedure is:
HERNIATED NUCLEUS PULPOSUS C6-7 FREE FRA C6-7 ANTERIOR CERVICAL DISCECTOMY WITH FUSION ZEPHER
It is explained clearly here: http://www.necksurgery.com/treatment-surgical-fusion.html
I'll stay Thursday night in the hospital (UVRMC) and I expect my sister to send balloons, gifts, candy and cards.
I think this story explains really well what I've been going through: http://www.necksurgery.com/patient-marcia.html
Also, an interesting note: I've finally been sleeping without sleep meds for 6 weeks straight now. It has been years since I've been able to sleep. The article above mentions sleep disorders due to the herniated disc... hmmm, I wonder if the herniated disc that is pushing on my spine is making it so I can finally sleep - LOL
